environment. EDUCATION. COMMUNITY
We connect young people and children from disadvantaged areas to nature as a means of its protection and to improve health and well-being.
We do this through surfing and environmental education.
At GET OUT we believe ALL young people should have the same access to the natural world, and we are confident those with a traditionally limited experience of the environment, can become some of the strongest voices for its protection. Our surf programme is designed to help overcome the disconnect between young people and the environment.
We understand that young people, especially those from disadvantaged backgrounds, are not accessing green and blue space, becoming more disconnected from the natural world and less engaged with its protection. All of which have a direct effect on health and well-being.
“GET OUT provided our pupils with an opportunity to take part in a program that they would never usually be able to experience. After their surf trip, they were the most excited, happy and inspired children that I have ever seen”
